Flour is an important ingredient in the kitchen, usually used in baking but there is a lot more in flour than meets the eye. There is a wide variety of flour but I will be writing about two of them. Oat flour made from oat is quite trouble some to find, but doing your own stuff is really easy. Get your blender and put a cup of oats, grind it using the pulse setting. People who are diet conscious tend to like oat in their diet since it’s gluten free. Though baking something using gluten free flour might make your bread break down to pieces, adding water or other liquid that’s in your recipe might help with this problem. If the recipe has yeast on it, adding a bit more would really help. Oat is somewhat a bit sweet and quite flavorful compared to wheat. And another one is when oat is used for baking cookies or bread, the product would end up having a good moist texture inside.

Wheat Flour

Using wheat flour is more common since you are able to find it in almost any grocery store. Aside from that, you can also do it yourself. But doing so, it might end up having a rough texture compared to readily made wheat flour. And compared to oat, it has a bit of a fine texture. If you have issues regarding gluten free food, avoiding wheat is a must since it contains gluten and may cause a bit of digestion problems. Being the third most popular crop in the world, it costs less and has high nutritional value.

Conclusion
Seeing the differences between oat flour and wheat flour is astonishing. Yes, they can be used on almost the same things like baking cookies or bread. But they do have slight differences. Oat needs less amount of sugar to be prepared, which is good. It’s gluten free and most of all, I can use it to replace wheat. Over all, I personally pick Oat Flour than the other. It’s not that I have gluten issues but with the points I have seen, it is a smart thing to pick.
