Egg Noodle vs Pasta

Many people can’t differentiate between egg noodle and pasta. Some said that egg noodle is a kind of pasta, and some people said that egg noodle does not belong into the pasta family. Which one is true it is not clear. These staple foods is widely consumed by people across nations. Their preparation is quite simple and you can add many seasonings to suit your taste. They can be made into soup, stir fry them, or added with some sauces, range from simple broth based sauce to more complex type of sauces. In this article we will try to give you information about egg noodle and pasta, and how both of them might actually differs from one another.

Noodle is a staple food made from unleavened dough, the dough then stretched, extruded, or rolled to flatten it and cut into variety of shapes. The most common shape of noodle is the thin strips or cylinder one, but some type of noodle have waves, helices, tubes, strings, shells, folded over and cut into some other shapes. Noodle is cooked in a boiling water and sometimes oils and salt are added when boiling them. Noodle also often pan fried and deep fried. Noodle is commonly served in soup or with some sauces. Noodle is very versatile food, it can be made with various soup and many type of seasoning sauce, it is also can be refrigerated and dried to prolong its life. The word Noodle itself comes from German word Nudel. Noodle comes from China, the earliest written record of noodle was found in a book from Eastern Han period about 25-220. Noodle at that time is made from wheat dough and is also a staple food for people of Han dynasty.

Egg Noodle
Egg noodle is made from wheat flour, water, and eggs. Egg noodle is sold both in dried form and in a wet or fresh form. Practically egg noodle have many different names, noodle which comes from various region have their own version of egg noodle. For example Yi mien, an egg noodle which popular in Cantonese region. This Yi mien noodle is also made with wheat, water, and eggs. It has a spongy texture because soda water has been used in the dough and then fried and dried into a flat dried bricks. In western culture egg noodle may have many shapes similar to pasta. Here is how to cook and serve egg noodle. First prepare the needed ingredients. 2 chicken bouillon cubes, 1 ½ cups water, ½ cup real butter, and 8 ounces of egg noodles. After all ingredients is present, boil water, bouillon cubes, and butter in a medium to high heat. Add the egg noodles and cook until the desired texture. When it’s about 6-8 minutes, add the remaining butter and serve immediately.

Pasta is an Italian staple food, made from a mixture of wheat and water. The authentic pasta is made from unleavened durum wheat flour mixed with water or eggs and shapes into various shapes. Most pasta is cooked by boiling them, but there is also pasta which is cooked by baking them. pasta has dozens of shapes it can categorized into long and medium length pasta, flat or ribbon cut pasta, short cut extruded pasta, miniature pasta, stuffed pasta, not wheat based pasta and decorative cuts. Pasta has come a long way, the first information regarding pasta in Italy is dates back from the 13th or 14th century. Pasta used to be eaten only by itself using bare hands. After the invention of tomato sauce, serving pasta with tomato sauce become popular and people are starting to eat them with fork because the present of the additional liquid. Here is a simple recipe how to cook and serve pasta. First prepared the required ingredients such as, 24 ounce of any type pasta you want, 1 cup butter, ¾ pint heavy cream, 1 dash garlic salt, ¾ grated Romano cheese, ½ cup grated parmesan cheese, salt and pepper. After the needed ingredients is present boil the pasta and lightly salted it until your preferred texture. In a saucepan, melt the butter and add salt, pepper and garlic. Add cheese and stir it in medium heat until the cheese melt. Pour the cooked pasta into the sauce and serve immediately.
