So, should you go all the way with Yeti Roadie, or save some bucks with Igloo Sportsman?

Design and Construction
Yeti Roadie boasts as one of the most rugged and durable cooler boxes, featuring a rotomolded construction that turns this gear to be virtually indestructible. It claims to be “grizzly proof” and it has been proven to be so. The box cannot be damaged by a bear, making it very safe and secure for going outdoor. It is equipped with a durable lock system, a stainless steel handle with a rubber grip, and anti-slip feet. The model is available in three color variants, which are white, desert tan, and ice blue.

Igloo Sportsman also comes with the rotational-molded construction, anti-skid feet, and somewhat bulkier locks. The drain plug is nicely tethered to make sure that you will not lose the plug on the go. However, the handle is made of corrosion-resistant aluminum. The issue is, the joints are not metallic as well. To make things worse, some buyers also complained that the coolers that they received had plastic handles instead. In addition, the insulation layer seems to be thinner than the one of Yeti Roadie, which affects its capability of preserving ice and cold temperatures.

Performance
Due to the thinner insulation layer, Igloo Sportsman does not perform as well as Yeti Roadie. While it can keep cold temperatures quite well, Igloo Sportsman can keep ice only for about two or three days. On the other hand, Yeti Roadie is able to maintain ice for about four days, thanks to the better insulation layer.

Size and Capacity
Yeti Roadie and Igloo Sportsman are actually about the same size, as they are both rated as 20-lbs cooler boxes. They can hold up to 20 pounds of ice each. However, the recommended use is 2:1 ice-to-contents ratio, which allows for about 14 cans of beverage along with some ice in the container.
